Thinking of getting a new cordless phone? Cordless phone can be a real nightmare! These electronic items are prone to lots of problems. They can cut out if you go out of range of the base. Some don't hold their charge, or run out of charge after a few hours. You can get static on the call and interference from microwaves, wireless routers and other electronic devices. Sometimes they can have very unfriendly navigation menus.
Introducing the Best Selling Panasonic Cordless Phone.
The Panasonic DECT 6.0 series 3 handset cordless phone system is the best selling (at the time of writing) cordless phone on amazon.com. The reason for this is that it solves all the problems above and looks nice. It's silvery, sleek and stylish. It's all very well me saying it solves those problems isn't it? How does it solve these problems? How?
If you take a look at the reviews on Amazon you'll see that there are over 800 reviews! They are not all good - but then nothing ever is, is it? First I'll look at how the phone solves those problems above - then, to keep it real I'm going to look at a negative review.
How this phone solves problems.
One of this phone's best features is that it has up to 17 hours of talk time - now that's quite a lot. It means that even if you were to make constant calls for 2 days solid (not impossible if you have teenage daughters! Just Kidding!), it would only just run out. People who have the phone have reported that 17hrs of talk time is a conservative number, and it can go into 16 hours of talk time with 5 days of standby time!! For some people this is particularly attractive, as if you forget to put the cordless phone back on its base its not such a big deal.
This phone has been deliberately made so that it uses a different frequency to other household devices - this means that you won't get any interference or fuzz from your microwave, hair dryer or Hoover. If the noise in the house is too much you can field calls from your garden. Some reviews imply 200 yards range! The sound is clear as a bell with no static or audible effects. A great add on is the intercom - you can tell them when the dinner's ready! Incidentally you can also have 3 way conferencing - eg someone else can come in on the same conversations with one of the other handset.
This cordless phone is simple to use.
The keys on this phone are bigger then other phones - so they are easier to see and you are less likely to misdial. Now OK, the navigation does require a little bit of concentration in the beginning - but once you've got it its easy.
What about the negatives?
Panasonic phones are electronic products. These are complicated bits of engineering - so they can go wrong. There are a number of reviews on Amazon where this has happened. The built in answering machine can break. The keypad light may not light up. If you click the link on this article you can navigate to all the bad reviews. They all focus on the phones actually breaking in some way. This is where it is good to shop at Amazon - you are covered by their refund policies. They are keen to abide by these rules - as you can see by various comments, especially in the 1 star reviews column.
